Client seeks assistance to probate his wife’s estate and transfer title of her property into his name. Client’s wife died in March 2021, leaving Client, their three adult sons, and her one adult son from a previous marriage as heirs. All of the heirs are willing to transfer their interest in the property to Client. The property was previously in foreclosure due to an outstanding mortgage, but Client is now working with a housing counselor to assume the loan. VIP has assisted the client with completing a Tangled Title Fund application to help with the costs associated with probate. We are seeking a volunteer to help probate the estate, draft a deed in client’s name, and file an inheritance tax return.
